TECHNOLOGY CAN RUIN RELATIONSHIPS

READING: 9 Ways Technology Can Ruin Your Relationship

So you headed out with your amiguitas last night, and you pulled the ultimate no-no—you sent your ex a drunk text, or you got pissed and cursed your boyfriend out in the third person on your Facebook wall. Either way, whether it's your cell phone or your Twitter account, technology can quickly propel your relationship down the drain. Here's a few daily no-nos to avoid.

1.Do you text too much?A poll in the November issue of Cosmopolitan showed that guys want no more than five texts a day from you—even when you're in a relationship. When you start blowing up his cell phone with random questions about nothing, it can throw him off the edge and take you as being, well, a bit annoying and chismosa.
2.Have you ever sent a drunk text? We are all guilty of it. So it didn't work or you got into a big. Before you know it, you're texting him saying more than just "I miss you." If you're trying to save a relationship or rekindle a romance, do it when you're sober. Oh, and keep your cell deep in your purse when you're knocking back Cuba Libres at happy hour!
3.Have you ever posted a flirty pic on Facebook? Those pictures of you in your teeny weeny bikini may seem hot, but it doesn't rub a guy the right way when you are constantly showing everything off to the entire social networking world. It's not that he isn't proud of how hot his girl is, he doesn't want everyone else knowing more than they should. So save the skimpiness for him.
4.Have you ever "liked" the wrong page? Don't you hate when guys like those pages of women posting inappropriate photos all over the place? Well, he feels the same way about you joining Facebook groups like "I Hate Men Who are Liars and Cheaters" (yes, that page exists). Not only is it obvious that you'd hate a liar and a cheater, but if you liked this page while in a relationship, it might make other people gossip about you and your guy (i.e., he must be a cheater), which can cause unwanted problems in the long run.
5.Does your password protect everything? Your phone, your pictures, your videos—what else? We all deserve privacy, but if you've got a lock on every device you own and he has to contact the CIA for a password, you might be sending the wrong message.
6.Do you have the "send read receipts" option on? You know that cool thing your iPhone does where people can see when you're typing and when you read their message? It might have seemed cool at first, but if you read the message and don't respond, he might think you purposefully ignored him.
7.Do you cling to your phone like it's a newborn baby? When you take it to the bathroom with you and are glued to it every second you might think "hey, I'm just on Instagram," but it can make him think you're either bored or possibly sneaking to the bathroom to text your ex boyfriend. So save the time of checking what photo your old high school buddy posted of her kids this time and just try to be away from it for a few minutes.
8.Do you get mad, update your status, and say…? "I hate when men think they can just do whatever they want and get away with it." Yeah, we understand your pain, but arguments should be kept private, because if you make up hours or days later, that status is still up there and it's a bit embarrassing for the both of you.
9.You're relationship status isn't listed. We aren't obliged to update our relationship status, but you should talk about it before you make the decision. He might think you just don't care that much if you don't let him know that you'd just rather not share your personal life.
