Can architecture change our lives?
1. What shape is the kindergarten?

5. Why are there not walls?

7. How do children learn to help eachother?
8. What is the idea behind this building?
Answers: 1.A circle 2. Nope , the government official said they needed a handrail 3. Low, they want to see the children from below 4. It is open most of the year, there are no walls 5.So the children can move around and to avoid having a noise barrier 6.A skylight 7. The five meter tall 7 story building 8.children move around constantly , are not overprotected, learn from mistakes

Domestic Violence

Vocabulary: teasing, pushing, silent treatment , broken arm, hurt feelings, run away, counselor, etc
Types of violence:
- Physical violence occurs when someone uses their body or a weapon to hurt your body.
-Verbal or emotional abuse occurs when someone uses words (written or said out loud) to hurt your feelings or scare you.
-Sexual violence occurs when someone makes you do some kind of sexual activity when you don’t want to.
-Neglect is when someone who is supposed to be taking care of you does not take care of you.
-Institutional violence occurs when organizations or institutions discriminate against a group of people because of their skin color, gender, or how much money they have. All of these kinds of violence affect our health in many ways.
PROMPT: Do you think violence is ever necessary? When do you think violence is necessary? Have you experienced or seen violence? Have you challenged or seen a challenge to violence?
EVALUATE

RELATED ACTIVITIES:
-Have participants create and sign a nonviolence pact, vowing to be non-violent and challenge violence in their lives.
